BEFORE YOU BOOK

What types of photography services do you offer?

Juniper Photography is a lifestyle and documentary photographer. My sessions capture the real heart of your family—the big bear cuddles, the tickle fights, and the quiet snuggles. I use games and gentle prompts rather than stiff posing to create stunning visual stories.

I offer: Family, Newborn, Maternity, Multi-Generational, and Mini Sessions (which are a perfect "taster" of the full Juniper experience).

How do I book a photography session with you?

Booking is easy! Simply reach out via the contact buttons on this website to fill out my enquiry form. This starts a conversation so we can find the best date and "chapter" for your family. Once booked, you'll get access to your Private Client Portal, your Welcome Video, and a special "Meet Harriet" video for your little ones!

How long does a typical photo session last?

I provide ample time so you never feel rushed.

  • Keepsake & Storyteller Sessions: 1–2 hours. This allows everyone to warm up and find their rhythm.
  • Newborn Sessions: Up to 3 hours to allow plenty of time for feeding and soothing.
  • Seasonal Mini Sessions: 20–30 minutes.
  • Midweek AirBnB Minis: 15 minutes.

Can I have more people than my immediate family in the photo shoot?

Absolutely! I love capturing the roots and the branches.

  • All Sessions: Designed for up to 9 people.
  • The Extended Storyteller: For groups of 10+ people (Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins). This is a £395 "all-in" experience that captures the full family legacy without the stress of a wedding timeline.

Can we choose the location for our photo shoot?

  • Mini Sessions: These are held at set locations. Seasonal Minis use carefully scouted outdoor spots like lavender fields or bluebells. Midweek AirBnB Minis are held in a curated Bristol AirBnB for a stylish "home away from home" feel.
  • Home: For my Documentary Chapter sessions (like baking or fort-building), I come directly to your sanctuary. There is nothing more special than capturing your family in the place you feel most "you." I’ll find the best light in your home—usually the kitchen, lounge, or master bedroom.
  • Newborn: These are almost always held in your home. I bring my Mobile Studio to you, so you can stay cozy while I create professional portraits in your living room.
  • Family/Maternity (Outdoors): You are welcome to suggest a spot, but I highly recommend one of my "tried and tested" locations. I’ve scouted these specifically for their beautiful light, quiet surroundings, and textures to ensure your gallery is as stunning as possible.

Do you go to areas that we have to pay to get into?

Yes! I’m happy to head to places like Westonbirt Arboretum. You would just need to cover my entry fee in addition to your own. Travel fees may also apply (see below).

Do you have a travel charge?

I include travel within 10 miles of BS34 8UD. For locations further afield, I charge £1 per mile for the total round trip. Example: A location 21 miles from my home (42 miles round trip) would add £42 to the booking.

What is the difference between a mini session and your standard session?

A Standard Session (Keepsake or Storyteller) is a bespoke experience where we have time to explore, play, and tell a deep story. You also get full access to the Client Wardrobe. A Mini Session is a fast-paced "taster"—perfect for an updated family portrait or a themed holiday card at a fraction of the cost.

How often do you run mini sessions

I run Midweek AirBnB Minis regularly and Seasonal Minis throughout the year (Beach, Autumn, Christmas). Dates are released to my Mailing List first, so join up to get priority booking!

Do you have a studio?

I don’t have a permanent studio, as I prefer the authenticity of your home or the outdoors. However, for Newborn Sessions, I bring my Mobile Studio (beanbag, backdrops, and kit) directly to your living room so you get that professional studio look without leaving your sanctuary.

What trimester would you suggest having a bump photoshoot?

The "sweet spot" is usually between 28 and 35 weeks. This is when your bump has a gorgeous curve but you aren't feeling too tired yet. I usually aim for 30 weeks, but we can always take it slow if you are further along!

THE SESSION

Do you send me any information before our session?

es! Once you book, I make sure you have everything you need to feel prepared and relaxed. You will receive:

  • Access to your Private Client Portal: This is where your Welcome Video and your "Meet Harriet" video for the kids are hosted. I recommend showing the kids their video a few times before I arrive so I’m a "friend coming over to play" rather than a stranger with a camera!
  • The 'Getting to Know You' Questionnaire: I’ll send this over for you to fill out. This is your space to tell me all about your family’s unique rhythm. Is your child shy and needs a slow warm-up? Are they high-energy and loud? Are there any specific details I should know to make them feel safe and happy? I use this to tailor my approach to your specific "brood."
  • The Ultimate Style Guide: I’ve taken the stress out of "what to wear." You’ll receive a guide with direct links to my Instagram Client Wardrobe page. There, you can see front, back, and side photos of my dresses, plus videos of the fabrics in motion and examples of real mums wearing them so you can see exactly how they fit and move.

What do I wear?

I’ve made styling your session as effortless as possible.

1. The Client Wardrobe: You have full access to my curated Client Wardrobe, featuring timeless, neutral, and earthy-toned pieces. I’ve hand-picked these fabrics—think linens, knits, and soft cottons—because they photograph beautifully and add a gorgeous, high-end texture to your images.

2. See it in Action: I have a dedicated Instagram Wardrobe Page specifically for you to browse at your own pace. I know it’s helpful to see how a dress actually fits and moves, so on this page, you can see:

  • 360-degree views (front, back, and side) of the pieces.
  • Videos showing how the fabrics flow in natural light.
  • Real-life examples of Mums wearing the collection during their sessions.

3. The Styling Guide: Along with my wardrobe, I’ll provide a styling guide to help coordinate the rest of the family. My philosophy is "cohesive, not matching"—we’ll focus on tones that complement each other and the environment, ensuring your photos look classic and intentional.

How do you handle the hygiene of the Client Wardrobe?

I take the care of my pieces—and your family—very seriously. Every item used in a session is professionally laundered using non-bio, skin-sensitive detergent before it goes back into the wardrobe, so it arrives to you fresh, clean, and ready to wear.

Is the Client Wardrobe included in Mini Sessions?

It depends on which "taster" you choose!

  • Midweek AirBnB Minis: Yes! I know that mid-week life is busy and Mums often don't have the time to shop for the perfect outfit. For these sessions, you have access to a curated selection of the Juniper Client Wardrobe so you can just turn up, get changed, and feel beautiful.
  • Seasonal Outdoor Minis: For these sessions, the wardrobe is not included. Because these are fast-paced outdoor events, I ask that you arrive dressed and ready to go. I will, however, send you a styling guide to help you choose colors that look stunning against our seasonal backdrop.
  • Full Keepsake & Storyteller Sessions: You have unlimited access to the entire Client Wardrobe, including personalized styling advice and the ability to try on multiple pieces.

Can I bring a pet?

Dogs are very welcome at my outdoor sessions! As a fellow "puffy-fur-baby" mama, I love including your four-legged family members. However, there are a few important things to keep in mind to ensure the session runs smoothly:

  • Advance Notice: Please let me know during the booking process if you’d like to bring your dog. This allows me to ensure our chosen location is pet-friendly and plan the flow of the shoot accordingly.
  • Location Rules: Many of my scouted locations require dogs to be kept on a lead. If your dog needs to stay on a lead, don't worry—I can work around this!
  • The "Tag Team" Method: I highly recommend bringing a friend or family member along to help mind the dog. This way, we can capture those "star moments" with your pet first, and then you can relax and focus on your family portraits while the dog is looked after nearby.
  • No-Pet Sessions: Please note that pets are not permitted at my Midweek AirBnB Mini sessions.
  • Dogs Only: To ensure the best results and the safety of everyone involved, I am only able to accommodate dogs at outdoor sessions.

What happens if the weather is unfavourable on the day of an outdoor shoot?

For outdoor shoots, I keep a close eye on the clouds. If it looks like rain, we can look at an indoor alternative or reschedule. I usually make the final call the evening before. Mini Sessions always have a pre-set "Rainy Day" backup date which I ask you to keep free when booking.

Do you have public liability insurance?

Yes, I am fully insured.

Do I need a lot of space for the Mobile Studio Newborn session?

Not at all! I’ve set up in all sorts of homes. All I need is a small clear area (about the size of a standard rug) in the room with the best natural light—usually your living room or kitchen. I bring everything else, from the posing beanbag and backdrops. You just provide the baby and the cuddles!

What happens if one family member can't make the Multi-Generational session at the last minute?

With large groups, life happens! If a key family member is unwell, we will work together to find a backup date that suits the whole clan. My goal is to get the whole family legacy captured, so I’m as flexible as possible when it comes to the unexpected.

AFTER THE SESSION

How long does it take to receive the final edited photos?

Your gallery will be ready to view in your portal within 4 weeks. It will be fully edited so you can sit down with a cuppa and choose the images you love.

Can I buy more images than wants included?

Absolutely! While my collections are designed to be simple, I know it can be hard to choose just a few favorites once you see your gallery.

  • The Storyteller (£295): This is my most popular "All-In" experience. By booking this upfront, you are securing every single digital image in your gallery at the best possible value. It’s the perfect choice if you want to relax and know that every giggle and quiet moment is already yours to keep.
  • The Keepsake (£195): This is a curated session that includes your 10 favorite high-resolution digital images. It is perfect if you are looking for just the "hero" shots and iconic highlights of your session.
  • Mini Sessions: These include 5 digital images. After your session, you will have the option to purchase individual additional images or the complete gallery directly through your online shop.

If you book a Keepsake session and later decide you can't live without the whole gallery, you will always have the option to purchase additional images or a full-gallery upgrade at my current post-session rates.

I also offer a range of professional-grade prints and wall art, which can be ordered directly from your gallery and delivered straight to your door.

Can I have the raw images?

I do not provide RAW images. Part of the Juniper magic is the professional editing and "warm" storytelling finish I apply to every image. Your final photos will be delivered as high-resolution JPEGs.

Do you share our photos on social media?

I love sharing the magic I capture, but your family’s comfort and privacy are my top priorities. My 'Getting to Know You' Questionnaire includes a dedicated section where you can choose your level of privacy:

  • Full Permission: Allowing me to share your beautiful story on my website and social media to inspire other families.
  • Internal Use Only: Allowing me to use a few images only for my private client PDF guides (which are sent only to booked families). This is a great middle ground!
  • Total Privacy: Keeping your gallery entirely private between us.

The Juniper Collaboration: If you are happy for me to share your images on Instagram, I love to use the "Collab" feature. This means the post appears on both of our profiles simultaneously. It’s the loveliest way for you to share your memories with your own friends and family, and it helps me reach other families just like yours through the best kind of "word of mouth!"
